Martyr Hameed Ibraheem Zakzaky

Martyr Hameed Ibraheem Zakzaky is the fourth child of Sheikh Zakzaky and Malama Zeenatudeen Ibrahim.
He was born in January 1992 in Zaria, Kaduna State. He attended both primary and secondary school in Zaria.
Until his martyrdom, Martyr Hameed was a first year undergraduate student of Aeronautical Engineering in the Xi’an University of Technology (XUT), China.
According to his father and the Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Martyr Hameed came to Nigeria on Saturday, 19, July 2014 for vacation; and five days later he was Martyred on 25th July, 2014.

He was taken away by soldiers together with his brothers Martyr Ahmad and Martyr Ali after the completion of the pro-Palestinian peaceful procession in PZ Junction, Zaria. He was subsequently murdered by soldiers and his body was deposited at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital Shika, Zaria.

Elder brothers to Martyr Hameed are Mohammad and Ahmad, while his elder sister is Nusaiba. Suhaila, Mahmoud, Hammad, Ali Haidar, and Humaid are his junior brothers.

His Contribution:
Martyr Hameed was influenced by the struggle of his father. As such, he contributed a lot towards the rapid development of the Islamic movement, especially in aspects that require philosophical thinking, technological invention and science. His main interest is technological advancement and media. He helped his brother martyr Ahmad in founding Daurah, a setting aimed at re-orientation and shaping the minds of the youths of the Islamic Movement. He is also a pioneer leader of Abul Fadl Abbas foundation.

His Martyrdom:
Martyr Hameed Zakzaky attained martyrdom in Zaria, during the 2015 International Quds Procession. He was targeted and extra-judicially killed by men of the Nigerian Army. Martyr Hameed was taken alive alongside his two brothers, Martyr Ahmad and Martyr Ali Haidar. Both Hameed and Ahmad were later killed in the military barrack called ‘Basawa Barrack’ in Zaria. They were brutally stabbed and sustained several gun shots that resulted to their martyrdom.
