Shaheed Yassir Mu’azu Muhammad
Shaheed Yasir was born on 18th April, 1999, in Dutsen – Rimi District, Funtua local government Katsina State. His father’s name is Mu’azu Muhammad and his mother’s name is Jamila Umar. He has 15 brothers and Sisters. Shaheed Yasir studied at Fodiyya Islamic School, King Kid’s Nursery and Primary School, Imams Science and Art Secondary School and Learner’s Hope Academy.
Yasir is Brave, Fairless, Courageous, Innovative and also a hard working youth. He is a member of Jaish Shaheed Sayeed Ahmad Zakzaky Foundation of the Islamic Movement. Yasir inspired many youth by proving to them that no matter what you do in life, the door is still open for you to reach the ultimate grace of Allah (SWT).
Shaheed Yasir was 17 years old when he was Martyred by the Nigerian police on 12th October, 2016. During the annual Ashura procession which was staged at Funtua town. He was shot several times in his body and attained martyrdom due to lost of blood.
Yasir smiled and waved good bye after he was shot, saying “mun tafi saikunzo” meaning “we are gone, until you come”.
