Martyr Maimuna was born in 1959 in Rogo local government of Kano tate. She studied the Holy Qur’an and other books. She was martyred leaving behind her husband and one child.
Before her martyrdom, she worked under a committee charged with the responsibilities of distributing water to people during programs. Mama was a very religious woman; her husband said for the 30 years of their marriage she has been performing night prayers without missing a day. She was woman who never gets angry and loved helping people.
Shahida Maimuna was martyred on 15th December 2015 when she participated in first protest after Zaria Massacre.
On the day of her martyrdom, she gave her clothes to a sister and told her to remember her after her martyrdom.
