Martyr Yakubu was born at Kaduna in the year 1985. He acquired both his primary and secondary School certificates in Kaduna. He also had a deep knowledge of Islamic Religion. He left behind his mother, one wife, four children and an unborn child. He was working with the Hurras of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria.
Shaheed Yakubu paid special attention to his parents and took good care of them; his only aim is to always be the reason for their happiness.
Shaheed Yakubu was martyred by the Nigerian Police on Tuesday 15th December, 2015 in Kaduna during a peaceful protest demanding the immediate release of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H).
COMMENT: On the day of his martyrdom, he told his wife (who is pregnant) that I am certain that I will not see this baby you are carrying.
He was martyred on the same day with his younger brother Martyr Mua Dahiru.
